DPS Nursery presented a program
DPS Nursery presented a program on “At the zoo in school premises”.

RANCHI. Why go to the zoo, when we can bring the zoo to you? The new tiny nursery dipsites, presented an activity on the topic: “At the zoo in the school premises”. DPS Ranchi witnessed the fascinating sight of the hefty elephants, royal tigers, bunny rabbits, ferocious lions, notorious monkeys and many more.

An environment of a zoo through themed decor, paintings and masks was created wherein different types of animals, birds and reptiles were displayed in cages to introduce the nursery children to animals.

The students talked about the importance of a zoo and the animals and birds we see over there. These types of activities allow an exploration and encourage inquisitiveness among children. The students were keen to learn about tigers, monkeys, alligators, birds etc. Zoo plays an important role in educating children about their natural environment, of which wildlife is an important part. They also gained knowledge about their eating habits and behaviours. They concluded the activity with some questions on zoo and with a beautiful rhyme “what fun it is to be in a zoo”. They summed up with the laudable message of “DON’T FEED THE ANIMALS” as at times it might be dangerous for us and can also create problems for animals in case of wrong food.

Principal, Dr. Ram Singh was enthralled by the students for their vibrant and thematic presentation. He said that thematic approach helps children to have fun, be more actively involved and develop learning skills.
