Dr. Balwant Singh of Partap College participated in National Seminar

LUDHIANA. One Day National Seminar on Interdisciplinary Approach for Professional Development in Teaching was organized by Modern Education College, Shimla in collaboration with International Professional Development Association (IPDA). The chief guest of the seminar was Professor Sikander Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Himanchal University, Shimla. Keynote speaker was Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana. Dr. Ranbir Kingra, Principal, Fateh Group of Institutions, Rampura Dist., Dr. Ramesh Sandhu, Associate Professor, C.R. College of Education, Haryana and Vice Chair, IPDA, India and Dr. Chaman Lal Banga, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, ICDEOL, HPU, Shimla were the resource persons who attended the seminar.

Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Vice Principal, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana presented a
general lecture on IPDa. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Balwant Singh, Principal, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana. He emphasized on the changing roles and the functions of schools and teachers. He suggested that teachers should be trained on Information and Communication Technology for their professional development. He gave importance on the use of improved evaluative, collaborative and accountable framework of teaching at schools.

The chief guest Professor Sikander Kumar appreciated the keynote presented by Dr. Balwant School, Partap College of Education, Ludhiana and said that this type of seminars should be arranged at the University level also. He encouraged all the teachers to have active membership of IPDA, so that they can attend different activities and seminars arranged by IPDA for their professional development.
